Don had always known that releasing knowledge of the faster than light engine was a risk. He faced that risk head on, helping to fight the two major wars that had been caused by the appearance of that technology.

Now, with the truce holding, Don took the moment of peace to explore the galaxy. And soon The Vision discovers an alien civilization. One on the verge of the space age.

But things can never be simple for The Vision. An old threat reemerges, attempting first to assassinate a member of the crew and then fleeing to the planet where they plan to create chaos to prove to Don the danger of the technology he has released. This forces the crew of the vision to visit the planet and attempt to capture their missing crewmember rather than survey it from orbit to protect them from the threat they brought to their world.
