Quinn knew books have power. The power to help a scared and angry kid escape from the reality of his father’s death. The power to help you forget about the bullies and imagine worlds where the smart kid becomes a wizard. The power to make you a better person and to create lifelong friendships.

What Quinn didn’t know was that the books his friend, and mentor Nate picked out were carefully chosen to teach him about magic without revealing it existed, or that Nate had banished it from the world five hundred years ago.
But when Nate died and magic flooded back into the world, that knowledge protected Quinn and helped him save everyone in New York.

It also led him to a library of hundreds of Nate’s spellbooks. But Quinn isn’t the only one who saw the power of books. His spellbooks are one of the most concentrated sources of magical knowledge in the world and everyone wants them.
Among those willing to kill to get them are the newly formed Bureau of Magical Affairs, Nate’s old wizarding order and an acquaintance of Nate’s who has just escaped a five hundred year banishment to Wonderland.
